#Reverb10: One Word
Reverb 10 Prompt: One Word. Encapsulate the year 2010 in one word. Explain why you’re choosing that word. Now, imagine it’s one year from today, what would you like the word to be that captures 2011 for you? via Gwen Bell.
This time last year, I chose one word to represent 2010. That word? Shine.
Inspired by my favorite Marianne Williamson quote, I decided that 2010 would be the first year I intentionally let my own light shine in order to unconsciously give others permission to do the same.
Through the creation of An American Girl In Cambodia, I found that I’ve been able to do this. And the results have been powerful. I’m extremely thankful for the responses from people who’ve been feeling the same thing I have, but thought they were alone. It’s nice to be reminded that while this world might be big and overwhelming at times, we’re intrinsically connected. We’re in-it-together and community is possible regardless of geographical barriers.
I haven’t yet picked my word for 2011. I’ve only recently begun thinking about what I want next year to be. I promise to update this post once I’ve selected my word for next year.
Do you have a word for 2011? Are you participating in reverb10? Would love to know.
Reverb 10 is an annual event and online initiative to reflect on your year and manifest what’s next.
